Indianapolis Pet Photographer | Say hello to Clark!
Posted on February 18, 2010
So, my last post was a bummer. This post is the opposite!
A couple of weeks ago, we adopted a new little boy! Meet Clark!

So, we certainly didn’t think we’d be getting another dog after Mr. Elvis passed, especially not two weeks after … but once I saw this face, I knew we had to meet him. Besides, once you’re used to a little flat faced dog snoring 24/7, the house is very quiet without it.
I was perusing petfinder.org and came across this beautiful little pug named “Ben” on the Pals for Paws page. I kept coming back to him. I sent his page to Ken. Ken tried to ignore me. Fail.

When we met Clark, his foster mom, Marsha, filled us in on his story. He is approximately one year old and was rescued from a puppy mill. The owner of the puppy mill called the lady that runs Pals for Paws and asked her to come get him because he wouldn’t mate. He had been with the rescue for at least three months, so that means he was about nine months old when he was discarded for not mating.
Well, that was Mr. Clark’s lucky day.
He is rather skittish with people, but he is getting braver every day! He loves following his new big sister, Wrigley, around the house and gets so excited at dinner time he can hardly contain himself.

Finding Clark and reading more about puppy mills has inspired me to do something new in my photography business. Look for an announcement soon!
Welcome home, Clark!

Saying goodbye …
Posted on February 18, 2010

About a month ago, we lost our beloved bulldog, Elvis. He was approaching his 11th birthday and had been with me for nine years.
At two, he was a champion show dog (Ch. Acme’s Little Elvis) who’s owner/breeder/handler wanted to retire him and find him a good home because he had high anxiety in the ring. I went to a bulldog specialty show in southern Indiana to see if anyone knew of any puppies for sale and, as fate would have it, the first lady I asked said she didn’t have any puppies, but this beautiful two-year-old. He wasn’t with her, so she e-mailed me a photo the next week. As soon as I saw his squished little face, I knew he meant to be with me.
I know people always say that their dog is the best, but he really was. He never met a stranger and everyone who met him loved him.
These are some of the very last pictures I took of my sweet little boy.

We miss him so much. Rest in peace, little Elvis.

Indianapolis Photography | Merry Christmas to All!
Posted on December 24, 2009
I literally have the best husband ever…I know lots of people say it, but I’m the only one telling the truth.

What girl doesn’t get excited to see a Tiffany Blue box under the tree?
Here’s how we do stockings…Ralphie and Grinch style:

Merry Christmas everyone!

Indianapolis Photography | Christmas is Coming!
Posted on December 18, 2009
I bought this snow globe probably 10 years ago, and it is still one of my favorite Christmas decorations. I love the face on the little snowman looking up at the snow falling down on his face. Isn’t he cute?

Happy holidays!

Our five year old cat, Roxie, sitting on the window ledge by our Christmas tree. I love the reflection of the tree’s lights in her eyes.
Happy Monday!

Official Turkey Photographer | Turkey Day – Mmmmm…Food
Posted on November 27, 2009
Ahh…another Thanksgiving has come and gone…I can’t believe Christmas is just a month away. Time flies!
We (me, hubby and doggies) headed to Yorktown for the night on Wednesday and hung out with my family. We started the holiday with our somewhat traditional bar night out on Wednesday then we followed it up with an amazing meal prepared mostly by my mom. Check out that turkey! She is awesome.
This has been a busy year…I finally decided to start my photography business. I’m thankful for (among many other things):
- All of my friends and family who have helped me out while starting this adventure.
- My clients, who have been great…wow…I have clients!
- Most of all, my husband, Ken, who has spent countless nights with me sitting here on my laptop doing who knows what to get this thing going. He is the very bestest.
Now, on with the FOOD!

^ Ahhh…fresh out of the oven.

^ Cheese ball.

^ Deviled eggs with goat cheese and dill. I couldn’t stop eating them.

^ Beer. ‘Nuff said.

^ Fresh Brussels sprouts roasted with pecans. My small contribution.

^ Time to carve that awesome turkey!

^ Last but not least, dessert! I can’t remember what this was called, but it was basically lemon cake with cranberries. It was delicious.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Trader’s Point Creamery Photography | Moooo!
Posted on November 8, 2009
My husband and I visited Trader’s Point Creamery on the northwest side of Indianapolis. After we gorged ourselves the dairy bar, we ventured out to visit with the cows! There were several babies, just born in June, and some bulls. The little ones were super cute!
